Bernese Mountain Dog Puppies from Daisy/Dexter

We Love Being Bernese Mountain Dog Breeders to These Cuddly Critters!

When introduced to these gentle giants, we fell completely head-over-heels in love.  Their playful spirit, bashfulBernese Mountain Dog Breeders personality and goofy character are just to name a few of their amazing qualities.   After bringing home a puppy of our own for the first time, we can’t imagine our lives without our Berners.  So, it seemed completely natural for us to want to research how to raise premium puppies for others to enjoy.  After 2 years, we began pushing up our sleeves and dived into the nitty-gritty of puppies.  With several litters under our belts now, we still learn everyday.  We encounter bumps in the road occasionally, but we strive to be the best Bernese Mountain Dog Breeders we can be.

Dexter & Daisy

Dexter is our first Bernese Mountain Dog and we got him as an 8 week old puppy.  He’s kind of the mascot of our whole farm.   People drive by and slow down to see him or ask what breed of dog he is.  He is the true, typical Berner.  He’s shy of strangers, goofy and loves his humans (us).  He’s super laid back and easy going.  You can usually find him during the day lounging out under the old oak tree in the shade.

Daisy, we also got as an 8 week old pup and she’s a bundle of energy.  I kid you not, it’s like she drank a gallon of Red Bull all before breakfast.  She bounces around on our farm, literally all day, never running out of ummph.   She’s definitely a go-getter.

We are thrilled to annouce the union of these two sweet parents-to-be.   These little sweeties will be the cutest pups ever!  (I’m sure I say that about all our puppies)  Daisy’s last litter was very calm and an easy delivery which made the whole process go very smoothly.   We’ll post pics on our Facebook page as soon as puppies are born.  I am honored to be a part of the whole miracle of birth with each of our mamas and this is why we’re Bernese Mountain Dog breeders.

Is A Bernese Mountain Dog Right For You?

Are you wondering if you might want to have one of these amazing puppies added to your family?  There are a couple things people always wonder about before deciding to bring this cuddly canine home for good.  First of all, you may wondering about the Bernese Mountain Dog lifespan.  Exactly how long do Berners live?  The typical Bernese Mountain Dog lifespan is 7-10 years.   Of course, that really depends on the type of environment they live in, nutrition and lifestyle the dog lives.  Many factors play a role in the longivity of your dog.   Due to his large size, this purebred is a fast growing breed and has the possiblity to have issues with hip dysplasia and mobility.   Owners need to be aware of the many ways they can extend the life of their dog by knowing what causes shortened lifespan and change them for the better.  Bernese Mountain Dog breeders like myself, are researching ways we can help too.  We get our dogs health tested and DNA tested to know if we should allow matings.  By doing all these things together, we hope to extend the lifespan of these loving creatures.

Bernese Mountain Dog Size

Does it scare you when I refer to them as “Gentle Giants”?  It shouldn’t .  They are the most loving and people oriented dogs I know.  They do get big though.  You need to remember that this dog was bred to do heavy work on the farm in Switzerland.  This meant pulling carts loaded with wood, supplies and milk.  You won’t find a small dog doing any of that.  The male Bernese Mountain dog size is 25-27 inches tall and they weigh approximately 84-110 pounds.  The female Bernese Mountain dog size is 23-26 inches tall and weighs in at approximately 79-110 pounds.   They both are thick and well built and generally longer that they’re tall.

This will help you to find the Bernese Mountain Dog price that you’re comfortable with paying.  Just remember, you get what you pay for!
